WoW Levels 60 to 70

With the release of Burning Crusade, I've been checking to see which of the WoW guides are being updated for the new release.

With the much anticipated release of Burning Crusade you can now level all the way up to 70. Many of the leveling guides have also been updated with updates immediately available.

Joana's Horde Guide author was an early beta tester and has a level 60 to 70 Burning Crusade update ready for download. Joana was the record holder for the fastest to level 60 (under 5 days played) on a new server and I expect a similar record for level 70.

Bill Kopp also has an Alliance level 60 to 70 Burning Crusade Guide:

"So you get all the class guides, any updated tweaks to the guide, and the 60-70 Burning Crusade Guides. "

WoW Gold Secrets also has an update:

"I was fortunate enough to have received a beta invite to the Burning Crusade. So what have I been doing since being invited? Researching gold-making strategies of course! "

There is bound to be some cool (and valuable) new stuff in BC so I'm looking forward to reading this just as soon as I can stop myself exploring the new zones.

Powerlevelling - is it worth it?

If you use either Joana's or Brian Kopp's guide you can powerlevel in World of Warcraft from 1 to 60 in about 5 days played - a total play time of 120 hours. If you want the experience of leveling this is great, but what if this is your second or third character and just want to be level 60 to go on raids or play alongside your friends?

That's 120 hours of hard grinding. Three weeks work if you can put in 40 hours a week. Never mind leveling up trade skills or running to the AH to buy and sell. Considering that there are powerleveling services out there that will do this for around $190, this works out to an hourly rate of $1.58 an hour.

Would you take a job paying $1.58 an hour?

If you would, then you are doing fine.

If not you may want to consider a power levelling service. Trouble is there are a number of dodgy people out there who will take your money and leave you still on level 1, or worse still, get your account banned. A friend of a friend of a friend (yeah, right) told me that both Guy4Game and BroGame deliver the goods and have good support. But don't tell anybody I told you.

Alliance Levels 20 to 60

Similar to Horde characters, there's a wide range of options and choices. The zones, and your play style, will depend on whether you are on a PvP or PvE server.

These are the best of the Alliance guides:

Alliance Leveling Guide 20-30

Jame's Alliance leveling Guide - Chapter I (30-41) Chapter II (41-50) Chapter III (50-60)

Basic Leveling Guide zones for grinding.

Brian Kopp's Guide the best Alliance guide by far. Step-by-step from 1 to 60 in 5 days /played. Again the only drawback is that it costs. In this case $35.

Horde Levels 20 to 60

This is a big range of levels and there are many different permutations of zones and quests. A lot will depend on individual preference and whether you are on a PvP or PvE server.

These are the best Horde guides:

Jame's Horde Leveling Guide - Chapter I (21-31) Chapter III (50-60)

MFO's Horde Power Leveling Guide up to level 60

Joana's Guide is by far the best Horde guide. Comprehensve coverage of every level from 1 to 60. Level to 60 in less than 5 days /played. It comes complete with 35 hours of video and an ebook. The drawback? It costs $37.

Alliance Levels 12 to 20

I have to admit that if you are levelling a Horde character, The Barrens does start to get old after a few hours. True, you are in different parts of the zone, and it's a big zone, but the scenery is pretty consistent. Lucky Alliance get to travel around a bit more. Most people level in Westfall, around Lakeshire, and Redridge for a little variety.

Caelestis’s Alliance Leveling Guide will take you through the quests available right up to level 20. Another good guide is Joan’s Alliance Leveling Guide.
